Madison-based University of Wisconsin will establish the Thomas Grist, MD/GE HealthCare Foundation Distinguished Chair in Radiology Research, funded by a $3 million gift from the GE HealthCare Foundation.
The position is named after diagnostic radiologist Thomas Grist, MD, who, after joining the University of Wisconsin in 1991, worked with GE Healthcare to develop innovative imaging techniques, according to an Oct. 31 news release from the university.
An initial $600,000 will be awarded to the department of radiology's incoming vice chair of research and will "support continued growth and innovation in the field," the release said.
