Turnaround times for medical imaging services at Midland based-MyMichigan Health have stabilized after the health system experienced a radiology staff shortage.
MyMichigan implemented a "portfolio of solutions" over several months to address the imaging delays, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the health system.
The solutions included adding four radiologists to prioritize oncology patients and one provider to read bone density tests. The health system also began sending appointment dates to imaging providers to ensure results would be completed before a patient's next appointment.
The health system is now addressing imaging delays at locations in Saginaw, Standish and Tawas, Mich.; they joined the system Aug. 1, the release said.
