The American College of Radiology has become a founding member of a new AI initiative established by Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham.
The Healthcare AI Challenge Collaborative is composed of healthcare institutions and professionals with the goal of evaluating the latest AI technologies, according to a Nov. 13 news release from Mass General.
The first iteration of the collaborative will focus on radiology. Participating professionals, including the ACR's 42,000-member community, will be given access to a database of AI solutions. Participants will evaluate the AI solutions' performance of image interpretation, draft report generation, key findings and diagnoses.
Other participating healthcare institutions are Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare; the department of radiology at Madison-based University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health; and the department of radiology at Seattle-based University of Washington School of Medicine.
Findings from the program will be available to the public online.
