ACR to recognize 6 radiologists for contributions to the field

The American College of Radiology recognized three radiologists and three radiologist fellows for their extraordinary contributions to the field.

The six honorees will be recognized during the ACR 2025 Annual Meeting from May 3-7, according to an Oct. 14 association news release. Here are the honorees:

Gold medalists

  • Jacqueline Bello, MD, is the Zimmer Hardy professor of Neuroradiology, a professor of radiology and neurosurgery and director of neuroradiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.

  • Beverly Coleman, MD, is the first director of fetal imaging at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment and the inaugural holder of the Beverly Gilbert Coleman Endowed Chair in Fetal Imaging. 

  • Alan Kaye, MD, served as chair of radiology at Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital, was a managing member of a large radiology practice and was on the medical staffs of Bridgeport, Yale New Haven and St. Vincent's Hospitals in Connecticut.

 

Honorary fellows

  • Boris Brkljaĉić, MD, PhD, is chair of the European Society of Radiology "Eurosafe" Imaging Initiative and former general secretary of the International Society of Radiology. He is also professor of radiology at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in Croatia and vice-rector at the University of Zagreb and an associate professor of radiology at the University of Iceland, Reykjavik, and an adjunct professor of radiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

  • Evelyn Lai Ming Ho, MD, is the immediate past president of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology. Dr. Ho is a consultant clinical radiologist and former head of the radiology department at Park City Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she also served as the chair of the radiation safety committee.

  • Sandra Lynne Turner, MD. PhD, is the founder and chair of the Global Radiation Oncology Collaboration in Education, a joint venture of the European Society of Radiation Oncology, Canadian Radiation Oncology Society and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists to promote health professional education and development of leadership skills among radiation oncology professionals. She is a senior staff specialist in radiation oncology at Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre at Westmead Hospital in Australia, subspecializing in genitourinary cancers and sarcoma.
