Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and five other health insurers will offer plans on Illinois' health insurance exchange this fall, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.
The other commercial carriers that have committed to the insurance marketplace are Humana, Aetna, Coventry Health Care, the health insurance plan of Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill., and Land of Lincoln Health, the state's only Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan.
The six health insurers that will offer plans starting Oct. 1 is 10 fewer than the Illinois Department of Insurance expected to participate, according to the report.
