Orlando, Fla.-based Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies installed ballet bars in its hallways for pregnant women to use during labor, reports News 6 WKMG.
The hospital installed the bars in December 2018 to provide support for women who want to walk around between contractions.
"It can be a long 12 hours, 18 hours just laying [sic] there watching the clock," Debra Davis, MSN, RN, nursing operations manager at Winnie Palmer Hospital, told News 6 WKMG.
The bars can also help with balance and endurance for women who have been on bed rest and need to rebuild muscle.
