The American Pharmacists Association Foundation named Rebecca Snead, executive vice president and CEO of the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations, the 2017 recipient of the foundation's Jacob W. Miller Award.
Jake Miller served as president of the APhA Foundation board of directors from 1991 to 2000. During his tenure, the foundation became a more influential organization. The award bearing his name is given annually to an individual whose efforts advanced the APhA Foundation's mission through involvement in its programs.
Before assuming her leadership role with NASPA, Ms. Snead served as executive director of the Virginia Pharmacists Association for 13 years. Over the course of her career, Ms. Snead has continuously advocated for medication safety and quality.

"I would like to thank the APhA Foundation staff and volunteers for all that they do for the profession of pharmacy and extend a special thank you to Jake Miller for providing an example of leadership and community service that we all can strive to emulate," said Ms. Snead in a release.
The award will be officially presented to Ms. Snead on March 27 at the APhA2017 Annual Meeting & Exposition in San Francisco.
