The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation announced the launch of an organization focusing on reporting adverse events.
AAMI Foundation's Healthcare Technology Safety Institute and several partners created the Coalition of Organizations for Reporting Adverse Events to "inform stakeholders about the patterns and trends of adverse events," according to the news release.
CORE will examine how to use data from adverse event reports to improve clinical practices and device design. The group had its first meeting in January and plans to meet once or twice annually to share data, according to the release.
