The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has released the updated 2012 "Guide to Clinical Preventive Services," which includes recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force on screening, counseling and preventive medication topics.
The guide is intended to help healthcare providers make decisions about preventive services, and it includes recommendations from 2004 through March 2012.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention convened by AHRQ that examines evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services, according to AHRQ.
