Texas long-term care hospital to close in mid-July

San Antonio-based Acuity Hospital of South Texas, a long-term acute care facility, will shut its doors on July 14, according to a news report from KSAT TV.

Parent company Acuity Healthcare, based in Charlotte, N.C., attributed the closure to declining revenue and industry changes.

The closure will reportedly leave more than 130 employees without jobs, according to a cardiac monitor technician cited by KSAT. Employees say they haven't been told anything about severance pay.

The hospital has been in the San Antonio area since 2008 and provided care to 3,365 patients. Patients will be transferred to other facilities.
