Only 4% of California and Connecticut nursing homes are experiencing staffing shortages, compared to 80% in Alaska, according to findings published April 12 by Seniorly.
Seniorly, a website that helps older adults find living facilities, analyzed data from CMS, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau and KFF for the study.
The states with the lowest percentage of nursing homes experiencing staffing shortages are California (4%), Connecticut (4%), Massachusetts (8%), New Jersey (9%) and Texas (9%).
The states with the highest percentage of nursing homes experiencing staffing shortages are Alaska (80%), Minnesota (64%), Maine (59%), Kansas (58%), Washington (56%) and Wyoming (56%).
