Option Care Health, the nation's largest independent provider of home and alternate site infusion services, is buying Amedisys, a leading home health, hospice and high-acuity care provider, for $3.6 billion.
The merger will "create a leading, independent platform for home and alternate site care," according to a May 3 news release from Option. Together, the companies have a clinical workforce of more than 16,500 professionals across 674 care centers.
