The average price per bed in a nursing home was $88,600 in 2020, marking a 22 percent increase from 2019, according to annual survey findings published May 26.
It's the first time the average price per bed for nursing homes has increased in four years, according to the survey, led by JLL, a real estate and investment management firm.
At the same time, the fourth annual Seniors Housing & Care Investor Survey and Trends Outlook also found the average price for a senior housing unit was $141,800 in 2020 — a year-over-year decrease of 16 percent.
Across the next few years, investment activity is expected to increase in the seniors housing and nursing care sector, along with resident demand, the survey suggests.
