Michigan's first pediatric rehab hospital named

Rehabilitation provider Mary Free Bed, in partnership with Corewell Health and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, all based in Grand Rapids, Mich., announced the name of the first children's rehabilitation hospital in the state, ABC affiliate WSBT reported Oct. 23.

Joan Secchia Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, named after a local philanthropist who donated to the project, is set to be the first pediatric rehab hospital in the state and third between the East and West Coast, according to the report. 

The $60 million hospital will be located in Grand Rapids and is scheduled for groundbreaking in spring 2024 and completion by 2026.
