Hawaii hospital to close nursing home

Wahiawa (Hawaii) General Hospital will close its long-term nursing center, effective July 22, HawaiiNewsNow reported April 22.

Hospital officials said insufficient insurance reimbursements, trouble retaining staff and continued financial challenges are among the reasons for the closure.

The hospital is giving the 136-bed center a 90-day notice and is helping to relocate its residents.
