Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill lowering the duration of nursing home residents' direct care to two hours daily, Tampa Bay Times reported April 7.
The current law requires certified nursing assistants to provide a minimum of two and half hours of direct care per resident daily. The bill maintains the current law requiring certified nursing assistants and licensed nurses to provide a weekly average of 3.6 hours of direct care per patient per day, but factors in time spent by other types of workers, such as physical therapists.
