Boston-based Spaulding Rehabilitation, part of Mass General Brigham, received an $180,000 award for its elementary school careers in healthcare initiative.
The grant will be used to implement the Walk and Roll in My Shoes program, which teaches students about careers in healthcare through an immersive, interactive learning model, according to a hospital news release. The program is offered in Boston-area public schools to children from diverse backgrounds.
The money was part of a $30 million grant through Cummings Foundation and will be used to help the program reach hundreds of students.
