Changes to Medicare Advantage plans could mean lower reimbursements for nursing home patients in 2025, Newsweek reported April 8.
Base payments on Medicare Advantage plans were cut by an average of 0.16% for 2025; however, MA plans are expected to grow by an average of 3.7% in payments, according to CMS. The agency said it is also setting more clear compensation amounts for agents and brokers, and will limit personal beneficiary data by third-party marketing organizations.
The changes come as the Biden administration looks to make Medicare Advantage payments more accurate and provide money based on the number of documented health issues a patient has, according to the report.
