Children's health rankings by state

In its annual Kids Count report, the Baltimore-based Annie E. Casey Foundation children's advocacy group ranked every state according to the health of its children.

The rankings were compiled using four health indicators: rates of low birth weight, insurance coverage, child and teen death rate and rates of teen drug and alcohol abuse. Below are the rankings, with No. 1 indicating the best overall health rating.
