Planned Parenthood has received a $275 million donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott to its national office and 21 affiliates.
The gift is the largest from a single donor in the organization's history, according to a March 23 Planned Parenthood news release.
The money will help support health equity at Planned Parenthood and improve health outcomes for Black patients, Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in the release.
"By starting with the Black health experience in partnership with local communities, we see this as an opportunity to not only improve health outcomes for Black patients but to transform how all patients, especially those of color and those in rural and low-income communities, experience our healthcare, education and organizing efforts," she said.
