The Senate Finance Committee on Feb. 4 invited leaders from seven major drug companies to testify at a hearing about high prescription drug costs later this month, reports Reuters.
Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and ranking member Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., invited the following companies to attend:
- AbbVie
- AstraZeneca
- Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
- Johnson & Johnson
- Merck & Co.
- Pfizer
- Sanofi
The Senate Finance Committee held an initial hearing on drug prices in January, during which Mr. Grassley denounced drug executives' lack of attendance. The senators said some of these drug companies have been re-invited to the next hearing, although they did not say which.
