Former pharmacy exec gets prison time for distributing tainted drugs

The former CEO of drug compounding company Pharmakon Pharmaceuticals was sentenced Sept.18 to nearly three years in prison for conspiracy and adulterating drugs, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Officials say Paul Elmer was responsible for his Noblesville, Ind.-based company distributing over- and under-potent drugs to hospitals across the country.
