Seven healthcare organizations were recognized March 3 by the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute for their efforts and contributions in the areas of care management strategies, cost containment, opioid management strategies and quality improvement.
Below are the recipients:
Care management strategies winners:
- Benecard PBF, a prescription benefit facilitator, is being recognized for its BenePrecise Pharmacogenetics program, in which prescribers and pharmacists work together to identify high-risk drugs for patients and determine the safest, most effective treatment options.
- Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value and Patient Advocate Foundation are being recognized for their employer-based benefit program that helps employees and their dependents navigate cancer treatment.
Cost containment winners:
- Coriell Life Sciences is being recognized for its Enterprise PGx turn-key solution, which helped a teachers’ retirement system with pharmacogenomic testing and medication review.
- PEEHIP-State of Alabama, a health insurance company, is being recognized for its benefit program strategy, which collaborated with vendors to reduce wasteful spending.
Quality improvement winner:
- Midwest Business Group on Health, a nonprofit group of self-insured public and private employers, is being recognized for its commitment to equipping employers with education and resources to help manage their hemophilia spending.
Opioid management strategies winner:
- Express Scripts is being recognized for its advanced opioid management solution, in which members are educated on opioid and opioid-adjacent therapy that addresses risks, safety tips and proper disposal of unused medication.
