A diabetes treatment for children, a label expansion for Keytruda & 2 more FDA approvals

Four drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since June 14:

1. Victoza, an injection, is approved to treat Type 2 diabetes in pediatric patients. It had previously been approved to treat adult diabetes patients.

2. The FDA approved a supplemental drug application for Dextenza. It is now approved to treatment ocular inflammation after  eye surgery.

3. Allergan received expanded approval for Botox. It is now approved for the treatment of pediatric patients with upper limb spasticity.

4. Keytruda won a label expansion after the FDA approved the drug for patients with metastatic small lung cancer with disease progression on or after chemotherapy and another prior line of therapy.
