Specialty drugmaker Sonoma Pharmaceuticals will reduce its workforce to slow "cash burn."
2. Lupin Pharmaceuticals cuts 60 jobs, blames US generic market
Citing headwinds in the U.S. generic drug market, Lupin Pharmaceuticals plans to lay off more than 60 employees from its research and development team.
3. Bayer to cut 194 jobs in Indiana
Pharma giant Bayer will shut down operations at its last facility in Mishawaka, Ind., resulting in 194 employees losing their jobs.
4. Seres Therapeutics cuts 30% of workforce, shuffles leadership
As part of a restructuring effort, Seres Therapeutics, a Cambridge, Mass.-based drugmaker developing biological treatments, will cut 30 percent of its workforce and make changes to its executive team.
5. California biotech cuts 14% of workforce
Theravance Biopharma, headquartered in South San Francisco, will cut 14 percent of its workforce in a cost-saving move as it works to launch one drug and expand other drugs into clinical trials.
6. AmerisourceBergen cuts half its workforce at Tennessee compounding plant
Pharmedium, AmerisourceBergen's troubled compounding unit, laid off 225 workers at its Memphis, Tenn.-facility.
