Waits remain long at VA hospitals

Despite the major blowback following the uncovering of a wait-time scandal at Veterans Affairs hospitals, wait times continue to be long for more than 600,000 veterans, or about 10 percent of all patients, according to a report from USA Today.

These patients are waiting one month or more for appointments at VA hospitals and clinics.

While the VA has reduced the number of veterans waiting for care, this has mostly been accomplished by outsourcing appointments, according to the report.
