The National Governors Association announced that six states will participate in a new program to help health systems ensure better provision of services for super-utilizers — patients who frequently use the emergency room, hospital inpatient services and other high-cost forms of healthcare delivery.
The Developing State-Level Capacity to Support Super-Utilizers policy academy is a team-based, multi-state effort that will help states implement regulations and data systems to support the delivery of comprehensive services targeted toward super-utilizers.
Six states — Alaska, Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, West Virginia and Wisconsin — and Puerto Rico, will participate..
The National Governors Association is a public policy organization. The governors of the 55 states, territories and commonwealths are its members.
