CDC issues ED Ebola diagnostic guidance

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a decision chart for Ebola guidance in the emergency department.

The algorithmic tool helps providers identify patients who may have Ebola, then isolate the patients and inform the appropriate actors. The procedure "reflects lessons learned from the most recent experiences of U.S. hospitals caring for Ebola patients," according to the agency.

To view or download the tool, and to read accompanying triage recommendations, visit the CDC's Ebola page.
