Clinton, S.C.-based Laurens County Memorial Hospital evacuated its staff and 46 patients March 29 after receiving a bomb threat, reports the Clinton Chronicle.
At approximately 9 a.m., the hospital received the threat, forcing a prompt evacuation and response from the Laurens County Sheriff's Department.
No devices were found on a preliminary sweep by the bomb squad. A secondary sweep was also completed and no devices were found.
All patients and staff were evacuated out of an abundance of caution. Patients were under tents in front of the hospital as the search took place.
The evacuation was lifted around 12 p.m. March 29 and hospital operations have resumed.
