A fire at Jefferson Hills, Pa.-based Jefferson Hospital, a part of the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, led to some patients and visitors being moved, according to wpxi.com.
The fire broke out at Jefferson Hospital during the early afternoon of Oct. 8. Firefighters found a smoldering object on the roof of the hospital's elevator shaft, according to CBS Pittsburgh. One firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion during the incident, and several hospital employees were treated for smoke inhalation.
An Allegheny Health spokesperson told CBS Pittsburgh the hospital asked visitors to exit the building and head to its adjoining medical offices. In addition, some of the hospital's patients with respiratory issues were moved, although the hospital said there was no evacuation.
The county's fire marshal is determining the cause of the fire, which took place in an area of construction on the hospital's roof.
