South Carolina hospital nurses sing 'Let It Go' to calm cancer patient in OR

Nurses at Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Health Children's Hospital relied on a simple strategy to calm a young cancer patient during a medical procedure: singing, reports The Epoch Times.

Ava Grace Parnell was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia around age 2. She underwent 28 months of treatment at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, which included regular chemo sessions.

Ava often watched the movie Frozen during sessions, so when it came time for her to have her port removed, nurses knew what to do. They belted out the song "Let It Go" to help keep Ava calm in the operating room before her procedure. Ava's anesthesiologist recorded the interaction, and it was posted on Palmetto Health Children's Hospital's blog.

The video has since gone viral, garnering more than 30,000 views as of Jan. 11.
