Nurse makes ugly Christmas sweaters for newborns at Magee Women's Hospital

The nurses at Pittsburgh-based Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC gave their youngest patients a special gift on Dec. 17 — ugly Christmas sweaters, reports KDKA-TV.

Caitlin Pechin, RN, a nurse on the hospital's mother-baby unit, crocheted sweaters for every baby on the unit to wear and take home.

"I tried to make ugly Christmas sweaters for the babies, but I actually think they turned out pretty cute," she told KDKA-TV.

The unit held an "ugly Christmas Sweater party" Dec. 17, complete with holiday decorations, a visit from Santa and, of course, the Christmas sweaters.
