In honor of breast cancer awareness month in October, a New Jersey health system is turning to Twitter to motivate patients to schedule breast screenings , according to Patch.com.
Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System launched its "#askher" campaign to raise awareness of the fact one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer and to encourage patients to schedule screenings for early detection. The health system also opened 1,200 new appointments for screenings across the state until Nov. 15.
Appointments will be available at Atlantic Health System medical centers across the state, such as Milford (Pa.) Health & Wellness, Overlook Medical Center-Union Campus in Union, N.J., and Pompton Plains, N.J.-based Breast Cancer at ChiltonMedicalCenter.
