Escanaba, Mich.-based OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is building a new cancer center where its old kidney dialysis center was located, Radio Results Network reported Oct. 23.
The new center will be named after the late Dan Kobasic, who made a sizable donation to the OSF capital campaign. The hospital, which is part of Peoria-Ill.-based OSF Healthcare, is also utilizing $1.5 million in federal grants.
Construction is expected to begin by early November and be complete by spring or summer 2023, according to the report.
The center will expand oncology services already offered by the hospital. Services are provided through a collaboration between the hospital and Green Bay (Wis.) Oncology.
