MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, Md., will begin construction on its cancer pavilion expansion in the fall, Washington Business Journal reported May 2.
MedStar has planned a $3 million, 4,000-square-foot expansion to its existing 13,000-square-foot cancer center, landscaping enhancements and a 4,000-square-foot addition to parking.
Groundbreaking has been postponed to fall 2023 because "the cost of the project will extend beyond the original $3 million budget" due to inflation affecting the cost of building materials, Jennifer Smith, vice president of philanthropy for MedStar Montgomery, told the Journal.
But the project is moving forward, Ms. Smith said.
