Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network has transitioned radiation therapy services out of the Greensburg, Pa.-based AHN Cancer Institute—Hempfield.
Area radiation therapy patients will instead receive treatment at the AHN Forbes Hospital Cancer Center in Monroeville, Pa., according to a statement from the health system shared with Becker's.
AHN Cancer Institute—Hempfield will continue to offer "radiation oncology physician consultations and office visits, medical oncology services, infusion care and other cancer support services," the statement said.
Transition of radiation therapy to the Forbes Hospital Cancer Center, which recently added a second linear accelerator, was put into effect Dec. 31.
"AHN and Highmark Health are committed to investing in the AHN Cancer Institute … in a manner that best meets the evolving needs of the patients and communities we serve throughout western Pennsylvania," the statement said.
