- Houston-based University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center researchers found 62 percent of women with two types of early-stage breast cancer responded well to chemotherapy and could forgo surgery.
- Researchers found physicians discuss sexual health with only 13 percent of women going through cancer treatment, compared with 89 percent of men.
- Oral anti-cancer drugs are an increasingly prescribed form of treatment. However, studies found that 10 percent to 20 percent of patients never received the prescription, and New York-based researchers set out to discover why.
- U.K. researchers discovered a new test for cervical cancer that is more accurate and could predict breast and ovarian cancers.
- A JAMA Network Open study found participating in Medicare's Oncology Care Model was not associated with decreased prescribing of novel cancer therapies.
