ANA expands 'Reimagining Nursing' initiative

The American Nurses Foundation has allocated $2 million in funding to support nurse-led innovation projections through its Reimagining Nursing initiative.

ANF, the philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association, is currently seeking pilot project proposals from nursing teams nationwide that focus on reimagining practice settings or exploring synergies between education, technology and direct reimbursement.

The grants represent ANF's second round of funding through its Reimagining Nursing initiative, which launched in 2020. In the first phase, ANF distributed $14 million in grants to 10 nursing projects across 54 pilot sites in 31 states.

"We are excited for this next wave of grant recipients to bring their fresh, new ideas to life and extend the amazing work already started within the first phase of the Reimagining Nursing Initiative," Adriane Griffen, DrPH, interim executive director and vice president of programs at ANF, said in an Oct. 22 news release. "The strides that we are making across all of our pilot programs in an effort to transform healthcare for the better will build capacity, and support taking nurse-led ideas to scale, as well as open the door for interprofessional learning collaboratives."

Grant funding proposals are due Jan. 10.
