New York was named the best state for nurse practitioners in 2023, according to an analysis by Nursing Process.
Nursing Process, an independent education website, used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careeronestop.com and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners to find information about annual salary, job outlook and openings and practice authority. Each factor was weighted to calculate the final score. Average salary and the 10-year job outlook were both weighted 30 percent while annual job openings and practice authority were both weighted 20 percent.
