According to the CDC, an estimated 30,100 central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) occur in intensive care units and wards of U.S. acute care facilities each year.
These infections are usually serious, and often cause an extended hospital stay and increased cost, as well as a greater risk of mortality.
To accompany their complete vascular access solution, PDI recently released a new video resource which reviews the primary sources of CLABSIs and how to help prevent them from occurring. The video is available on their website here.
