Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt Reveals $84M Expansion

The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., has announced plans to build an $84 million, four-story inpatient tower, according to a Tennessean report.

The four new floors would add a total of 160,000 square feet. One of the floors will house 36 beds, and the three remaining floors will be shell space, unfinished for future use, according to the report.

The hospital is still waiting on state approval to move forward with the project. Once approved, construction is expected to begin in early 2015.
