Memorial Hospital in Illinois to Build Offices, Dementia Housing

Carthage, Ill.-based Memorial Hospital has announced plans to construct office buildings and a dementia housing complex, according to a report from the Journal News.

The medical office building was part of Memorial Hospital's original expansion but was delayed until now for financial reasons. The operational cost difference between the new and old offices is expected to save the hospital approximately $30,000 per year.

Memorial's $5 million dementia complex project will create two 9,000-square-foot houses for family-style living. The construction and in-house programming at the facilities will cater to the particular needs of dementia patients. There is already a waiting list for residents, according to the report.
