Elmhurst Memorial Center Opens Center for Cancer Care

Elmhurst (Ill.) Memorial Healthcare has opened its Center for Cancer Care, replacing its Berteau Campus.

The new center's design improves patient care through centralizing it in a single location. Jean Lydon, associate vice president of clinical operations, said having one centralized location will improve communication and collaboration while allowing patients to receive all their treatment in one place.

The center features a linear accelerator and a dual PET/CT scanner. In January 2014, the center will receive EMH's CyberKnife technology from the Berteau Campus. Patients will be treated at other CyberKnife locations until the device is moved to the new center.
