The West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, W.Va., has received the Magnate award from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the only hospital in the country to receive the designation twice, according to a report from WBOY News.
The university hospital first received Magnate status in 2005. According to the report, the hospital had to submit information on how well nurses served patients to improve their care, and a committee then visited the hospital to verify its claims.
The award also recognizes the hospital's nurses' commitment to improving their practice, according to the report.
