Washington State Supreme Court Reverses Medicaid Cuts

The Washington States Supreme Court has ordered the state's Department of Social and Health Services to reverse cuts to Medicaid benefits for certain children covered by the program, according to a KING5 NEWS report.

The cuts essentially slashed benefits by half for in-home personal care for some beneficiaries. The Court ruled the cuts must be made based on examining each individual case, not by broad assumptions based on children's age and living conditions.

The Court also affirmed a lower court's decision that similar cuts to 1,000 seniors receiving in-home care were unfair, according to the report.
