Ville Platte (La.) Medical Center and Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, La., have announced plans to merge into a single health system with two campuses, according to a report by the Daily World.
Both Ville Platte and Acadian are owned by LifePoint Hospitals and are merging to increase operational efficiencies and improve market opportunities, according to the report. Both facilities are expected to retain all currently offered services.
The new system will be led by Alan Daugherty, current CEO of Ville Platte, and the merger is expected to be completed by April 2010.
