St. Mary Mercy Livonia in Michigan to Unveil New Addition

St. Mary Mercy Livonia (Mich.) announced (pdf) it will unveil its 154,000-square-foot addition Oct. 28.

St. Mary Mercy Livonia is opening its new addition.The addition (rendering pictured right) includes 80 larger, private patient rooms with full bathrooms and showers.

The hospital also added a 45,000-square-foot emergency center — which is more than double the size of the previous emergency center. The center includes two triage rooms, four trauma bays, six rapid assessment bays, six fast track bays, 14 general treatment rooms, 14 senior treatment rooms for patients aged 65 and older, seven behavioral medicine treatment rooms, two radiology rooms, a waiting area and a meditation room.

In addition, the first floor of the addition houses classrooms for the hospital's graduate medical education program.

The addition will open to patients in mid-November.
