The 10,000 square-foot St. David's Emergency Center will feature 10 exam rooms, a trauma room, a CT scanner, a radiology/fluoroscopy unit and a stat laboratory to help confirm diagnoses, according to the report. The ER will handle a variety of emergency cases such as strokes, heart attacks and trauma, but will not allow for in-patient care.
St. David's hopes the center will add to the quality of life in the Bee Cave area, eliminating the need for residents to travel far distances or risk traffic congestion to receive emergency care, according to the report. St. David's Emergency Center is expected to open by the end of 2010.
