Southwest Washington Health System Begins Merger Talks With Wash.-based PeaceHealth

PeaceHealth, a Bellevue, Wash.-based nonprofit hospital system with facilities in Washington state, Oregon and Alaska, announced it is in merger talks with Southwest Washington Health System, which operates Vancouver, Wash.'s largest hospital, Southwest Washington Medical Center, a two-campus facility.


Due diligence and merger negotiations are expected to take 6-8 months, PeaceHealth CEO Alan Yordy said, according to a story in The Register-Guard in Eugene, Ore.

PeaceHealth had net patient revenue of $1.3 billion in fiscal 2009, while Southwest had net patient revenue of nearly $500 million, according to the Register-Guard.
