Sisters of Charity Names New Leadership for Denver's Exempla System

Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health Systems has named new a leadership team for four-hospital Exempla Healthcare in Denver, following its recent administrative takeover of Exempla, according to the Denver Post.

Bob Ladenburger, Exempla's new president and CEO, has been CEO for the past 10 years of St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., part of the Sisters of Charity system.

He will succeed former Exempla CEO Jeff Selberg, who was ousted last week after Sisters of Charity, a longtime part-owner of Exempla, took administrative control.

Sisters of Charity is also filling CEO positions at two Exempla hospitals after their former CEOs left with Mr. Selberg:

  • Bain J. Farris, a senior member of Sisters of Charity's leadership team, will head Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, succeeding Bob Minkin.
  • Grant Wicklund, who has been interim head of St. Francis Health Center, a Sisters of Charity acute-care facility in Topeka, Kan., will head Exempla Lutheran Medical Center, succeeding Bob Malte.

David Hamm, another member of Mr. Selberg's old leadership team, will remain as president and CEO of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.
